Words From The Heart

Proverbs 12:5,6 The
thoughts of the righteous
are right:
but the counsels of the wicked
are deceit. The
words of the wicked are
to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright
shall deliver them.
The words we speak tell a lot about our character, therefore
expressing who we are. Take for instance the Presidential
Candidates we have to choose from in this voting year. Are
you listening to what they are saying? Or rather, what they
are NOT saying? Are they speaking truth or lies? I'm not
referring to political party differences. I'm speaking
expressly about the issues they are conveying to the public
to win our votes. Are their words merely trite or genuinely
spoken from the heart?
God's Word tells us in Matthew 12: 34-37
34
O
generation
of
vipers, how
can
ye, being
evil,
speak good things?
for
out of
the
abundance of
the
heart the
mouth
speaketh.
35
A
good
man out
of
the good
treasure
of
the heart
bringeth forth
good things:
and
an evil
man
out of the
evil
treasure bringeth forth
evil things.
36
But I
say
unto you,
That
every idle
word
that men
shall
speak, they
shall
give account
thereof
in
the day
of
judgment.
37
For by
thy
words thou
shalt
be justified,
and
by thy
words
thou shalt
be
condemned.
What of our own words we speak every day? Do you give any
thought to the words you speak and what they say about you
to those who hear you? Do you profess to be one thing but by
the words of your mouth do you convey something else?
Keep your heart filled with the Word of God on a daily basis
so others will be blessed by the words you speak.
Psalm 119:11
Thy word
have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin
against thee.
